STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10409--A IN ASSEMBLY May 4, 2020 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. McDONALD, OTIS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT relating to authorizing local governments to extend building permits and local zoning boards of appeals and local planning boards active approvals for a period of up to 120 days; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon the expiration thereof The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. For the duration of the state disaster emergency declared 2 pursuant to executive order 202 of 2020, local governments may, acting 3 pursuant to a single resolution, extend for a period of up to 120 days 4 beyond the stated expiration date: 5 1. building permits issued before March 7, 2020; and 6 2. local zoning boards of appeals and local planning boards active 7 approvals issued before March 7, 2020. 8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be 9 deemed repealed December 31, 2021.
