        AN ACT to authorize Donald Quehl to take the competitive  civil  service
          examination  and  be  placed on the eligible list for appointment as a
          full-time police officer for the village of Pulaski, county of Oswego

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil
     2  service law, or any other law to the contrary,  Donald  Quehl,  who  has
     3  been  continuously  employed by the village of Pulaski, in the county of
     4  Oswego, as a part-time police officer, shall be  eligible  to  take  the
     5  competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer
     6  and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to
     7  be  placed  on  the  eligible list for appointment as a full-time police
     8  officer for the village of Pulaski.
     9    § 2. Donald Quehl shall otherwise be subject to the merit and  fitness
    10  provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi-
    11  cers.
    12    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
