       AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to  eliminating
         noting address change on documents
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 492 of  the  vehicle  and  traffic
    2  law,  as added by chapter 295 of the laws of 1983, is amended to read as
    3  follows:
    4    3. Change of address. It shall be the duty of every holder of an iden-
    5  tification card to notify the commissioner in writing of any  change  of
    6  residence  of  such holder within ten days after such change occurs [and
    7  to make a notation of such change of  residence  on  the  identification
    8  card in the place provided by the commissioner].
    9    S  2.  Subdivision 5 of section 505 of the vehicle and traffic law, as
   10  added by chapter 780 of the laws of 1972, is amended to read as follows:
   11    5. Change of address. It shall be the duty of every licensee to notify
   12  the commissioner in writing of any change of residence of such  licensee
   13  within ten days after such change occurs [and to make a notation of such
   14  change of residence on such license in the place provided by the commis-
   15  sioner].
   16    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
