          LAVINE, LUPARDO, MAGNARELLI, McDONOUGH, MONTESANO, RA, SIMON, SIMOTAS,
          SMULLEN, TAGUE, WALCZYK, WILLIAMS -- read once  and  referred  to  the
          Committee on Governmental Operations

        AN ACT to amend the state law, in relation to making the yellow pro-suf-
          fragist  rose  the  official flower of the state for the 2020 calendar
          year; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon  expiration
          thereof

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 75 of the state law, as added by chapter 507 of the
     2  laws of 1955, is amended to read as follows:
     3    § 75. State flower. The rose shall be the official flower of the state
     4  in any color or combination of colors common to it, provided,  that  for
     5  the  calendar  year  two thousand twenty, the yellow pro-suffragist rose
     6  shall be the official flower of the state.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall  expire  and  be
     8  deemed repealed December 31, 2020.
