          tion -- recommitted to the Committee on Transportation  in  accordance
          with  Assembly  Rule  3, sec. 2 -- committee discharged, bill amended,
          ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
        AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of
          the state highway system as the "West Seneca Veterans  Memorial  High-
          way"
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-e to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 344-e. Portion of the state highway system to be designated  as  the
     4  "West  Seneca  Veterans Memorial Highway". All that portion of the state
     5  highway system constituting state route two hundred seventy-seven in the
     6  town of West Seneca, county of Erie, shall be designated  and  known  as
     7  the "West Seneca Veterans Memorial Highway".
     8    §  2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
     9  lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state  highway  system
    10  as  designated  pursuant  to  section one of this act. However, to avoid
    11  confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce,  the  desig-
    12  nation  called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be of cere-
    13  monial nature and the official name of such highway shall not be changed
    14  as a result of this act.
    15    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
