        AN ACT authorizing alienation of certain parklands in the town of  Corn-
          wall, county of Orange
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act, the  town  of  Corn-
     2  wall,  in the county of Orange, acting by and through its town board, is
     3  hereby authorized to discontinue as parklands  and  alienate  the  lands
     4  described  in  section  three  of  this act, and to sell and convey such
     5  parkland at fair market value for the purpose of  constructing  a  local
     6  history museum owned and operated by the town of Cornwall.
     7    §  2.  The authorization contained in section one of this act shall be
     8  conditioned upon use of the lands described in section three of this act
     9  exclusively for the purpose of construction and  operation  of  a  local
    10  history  museum  by the town of Cornwall and, in the event that such use
    11  of the said land by the town shall cease, the lands described in section
    12  three of this act shall revert to parkland owned and maintained  by  the
    13  town.
    14    §  3. The lands authorized by section one of this act to be discontin-
    15  ued as parkland are described as follows:
    16    ALL that certain plot, piece or parcel of land with the  building  and
    17  improvements  thereon  erected,  situate, lying and being in the Town of
    18  Cornwall, County of Orange and State of New York bounded  and  described
    19  as follows:
    20    BEGINNING  at  a  point in or near a utility pole at the southeasterly
    21  corner of lands of the Central School District No. 1  of  the  Towns  of
    22  Cornwall, New Windsor and Woodbury as described in Liber 4750, Page 330,
    23  said  point  of  beginning  being located South 33 degrees 36 minutes 27
    24  seconds East for a distance  of  342.24  feet  along  the  northeasterly

     1  bounds  of said parcel, from a point in the southeasterly line of Hudson
     2  Street;
     3    THENCE  South  33 degrees 36 minutes 27 seconds East for a distance of
     4  100.68 feet through lands of the Town of Cornwall, Liber 2028, Page  337
     5  to a point;
     6    THENCE  South  49 degrees 43 minutes 32 seconds West for a distance of
     7  191.00 feet through the same to a point in or near the edge of  pavement
     8  of Munger Cottage Drive;
     9    THENCE  North  33 degrees 29 minutes 19 seconds West for a distance of
    10  135.22 feet through said lands of the Town of Cornwall to a point in the
    11  southeasterly bounds said lands of Central School District No. 1 of  the
    12  Towns of Cornwall, New Windsor and Woodbury;
    13    THENCE  North  76 degrees 55 minutes 00 seconds East for a distance of
    14  75.00 feet along the same to a point;
    15    THENCE North 49 degrees 43 minutes 32 seconds East for a  distance  of
    16  120.00 feet along the same to the POINT OR PLACE OF BEGINNING.
    17    TOGETHER with and subject to covenants, easements, and restrictions of
    18  record.
    19    Said property contains 0.4661 acres more or less.
    20    §  4.  In  the  event  that the town of Cornwall received any funding,
    21  support or assistance from the  federal  government  for  the  purchase,
    22  maintenance or improvement of the parkland set forth in section three of
    23  this  act, the discontinuance and alienation of such parkland authorized
    24  by the provisions of section three of this act shall not occur until the
    25  town of Cornwall has complied with any federal  requirements  pertaining
    26  to  the alienation or conversion of such parklands, including satisfying
    27  the secretary of the interior that the alienation or conversion complies
    28  with all conditions which the secretary of the interior deems  necessary
    29  to  assure  the  substitution of other lands shall be equivalent in fair
    30  market value and usefulness to the lands being alienated or conveyed.
    31    § 5. This act shall take effect immediately.
