        AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation  to  giving  public
          notice of meetings through electronic means
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subdivisions 1 and 2 of section 104 of the public  officers
     2  law,  as  amended by chapter 704 of the laws of 1979 and such section as
     3  renumbered by chapter 652 of the laws of 1983, are amended and  subdivi-
     4  sion  5  is renumbered subdivision 6 and a new subdivision 5 is added to
     5  read as follows:
     6    1. Public notice of the time and place of a meeting scheduled at least
     7  one week prior thereto shall be given or electronically  transmitted  to
     8  the  news  media and shall be conspicuously posted in one or more desig-
     9  nated public locations at least seventy-two hours before such meeting.
    10    2. Public notice of the time and place of every other meeting shall be
    11  given or electronically transmitted, to the extent practicable,  to  the
    12  news  media  and shall be conspicuously posted in one or more designated
    13  public locations at a reasonable time prior thereto.
    14    5. If a meeting will be streamed live over the  internet,  the  public
    15  notice  for  the meeting shall inform the public of the internet address
    16  of the website streaming such meeting.
    17    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
