STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 6259 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY April 3, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. BROOK-KRASNY, NOVAKHOV -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to the unlawful dissemination of a security body scan The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The penal law is amended by adding a new section 250.72 to 2 read as follows: 3 § 250.72 Unlawful dissemination of a security body scan. 4 A person is guilty of unlawful dissemination of a body scan, when he 5 or she, without the permission of the person of whom the scan was made, 6 knowingly disseminates a body scan taken for legal security purposes, or 7 any image or images derived from such scan, to any person who has not 8 been authorized to receive such scan pursuant to state or federal stat- 9 ute or regulation. 10 Unlawful dissemination of a security body scan is a class A misdemea- 11 nor. 12 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- 13 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
