        AN ACT to authorize school districts to create parklands from land owned
          by such school districts
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding  any  inconsistent  provision of law, any
     2  school district in the state may  utilize  land  owned  by  such  school
     3  district for the purposes of creating parklands; provided, however, that
     4  such  school  district  shall  submit a proposition to the voters of the
     5  school district for their approval to use such land for  creating  park-
     6  lands.  Any  land owned by a school district used for parklands shall be
     7  used for outdoor education and  other  school  curriculum  purposes  and
     8  shall be available to the residents of the school district for their use
     9  and enjoyment.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
