BORELLI, CURRAN, GARBARINO, LUPINACCI, MONTESANO, RA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Govern- mental Operations AN ACT to amend the military law, in relation to pay for military duty covering forty work days or sixty calendar days THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 242 of the military law, as 2 amended by chapter 161 of the laws of 1984, is amended to read as 3 follows: 4 5. Pay for military duty. Every public officer or employee shall be 5 paid his salary or other compensation as such public officer or employee 6 for any and all periods of absence while engaged in the performance of 7 ordered military duty, and while going to and returning from such duty, 8 not exceeding a total of [thirty] SIXTY days or [twenty-two] FORTY work- 9 ing days, whichever is greater, in any one calendar year and not exceed- 10 ing [thirty] SIXTY days or [twenty-two] FORTY working days, whichever is 11 greater, in any one continuous period of such absence. 12 S 2.
