        Introduced by M. of A. ABINANTI -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee  on  Election  Law  -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered
          reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee --  recommitted
          to  the  Committee on Election Law in accordance with Assembly Rule 3,
          sec. 2 -- reported and referred to the Committee on Codes --  reported
          and referred to the Committee on Rules -- amended on the special order
          of third reading, ordered reprinted as amended, retaining its place on
          the special order of third reading
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the election law, in relation to prohibiting certain
          loans to be made to candidates or political committees
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision  6  of  section 14-114 of the election law is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph c to read as follows:
     3    c. Lobbyists, as defined by subdivision (a) of section  one-c  of  the
     4  legislative  law  or by subdivision (a) of section 3-211 of the New York
     5  city administrative code, political action committees, labor unions, and
     6  any person who has registered with the state board of elections pursuant
     7  to subdivision three of section 14-107 of this  article  are  prohibited
     8  from  making  loans  to  candidates  or  political committees; provided,
     9  however, that a lobbyist shall not be prohibited from making a  loan  to
    10  himself  or  herself  or to his or her own political committee when such
    11  lobbyist is a candidate for office.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
