       AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to providing  infor-
         mation on where to seek help in regards to military sexual trauma
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1.   Section 7.09 of the mental  hygiene  law  is  amended  by
    2  adding a new subdivision (k) to read as follows:
    3    (K) THE COMMISSIONER SHALL DISSEMINATE INFORMATION TO VETERANS REGARD-
    4  ING  WHICH UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTERS,
    5  OUTPATIENT CLINICS, COMMUNITY-BASED OUTPATIENT CLINICS, VET  CENTERS  OR
    6  OTHER  UNITED  STATES DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS FACILITIES VETERANS
    7  CAN SEEK TREATMENT, COUNSELLING AND RESOURCES FOR MILITARY SEXUAL TRAUMA
    8  EXPERIENCED WHILE ON ACTIVE  DUTY  OR  DURING  MILITARY  TRAINING.  SUCH
    9  INFORMATION  SHALL  BE POSTED ON THE OFFICE'S WEBSITE WITH A LINK TO THE
   10  WEBSITE OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS AND  A  LINK
   11  TO THE WEBSITE OF THE STATE DIVISION OF VETERANS' AFFAIRS.
   12    S  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
   13  have become a law; provided, however, that  effective  immediately,  the
   14  commissioner of mental health shall promulgate any rules and regulations
   15  necessary  for the implementation of this act on or before its effective
   16  date.
