          NO, COLTON -- read once and referred to  the  Committee  on  Veterans,
          Homeland Security and Military Affairs
        AN  ACT  requiring the creation of a list of suitable documentation that
          can be used by veterans applying for real property tax exemptions
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  The  executive  director  of  the office of real property
     2  services shall create a list  of  suitable  documents  which  support  a
     3  veteran's  eligibility to apply for real property tax exemptions, pursu-
     4  ant to sections 458 and 458-a of the real property tax  law.  Such  list
     5  shall include, but not be limited to the discharge certificate DD-214.
     6    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
     7  it  shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the executive direc-
     8  tor of the office of real property services shall promulgate any rule or
     9  regulation necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective
    10  date as authorized and directed to be made and completed  on  or  before
    11  such effective date.
