        AN  ACT  to amend the general business law, in relation to the sale, use
          and application of styrene and products containing styrene by  appear-
          ance enhancement businesses
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
     2  404-d to read as follows:
     3    § 404-d. Styrene. 1. No owner or operator of an appearance enhancement
     4  business shall knowingly:
     5    a. sell, use or apply to any person styrene or  a  product  containing
     6  styrene; or
     7    b. direct any agent or employee of such business to sell, use or apply
     8  to any person styrene or a product containing styrene.
     9    2.  A  first  violation of this section shall be punishable by a civil
    10  penalty of not more than one thousand dollars. A second  or  any  subse-
    11  quent violation of this section shall be a class B misdemeanor.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
