       AN ACT to amend the general business  law,  in  relation  to  increasing
         fines for selling and manufacturing fur-bearing articles of clothing
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 399-aaa of  the  general  business
    2  law,  as added by chapter 611 of the laws of 2007, is amended to read as
    3  follows:
    4    4. A violation of this section shall be punishable by a  fine  of  not
    5  more  than  [five  hundred] ONE THOUSAND dollars for the first violation
    6  and not more  than  [one]  TWO  thousand  dollars  for  each  subsequent
    7  violation.
    8    S  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
    9  have become a law.
