STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 719--A 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY January 9, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. GUNTHER, CUSICK, CROUCH, SEPULVEDA, SKOUFIS, D'URSO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation -- recommitted to the Committee on Transportation in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to increasing the penalties for passing a stopped school bus The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph b of subdivision 2 of section 510 of the vehicle 2 and traffic law is amended by adding a new subparagraph (xviii) to read 3 as follows: 4 (xviii) for a period of sixty days where the holder is convicted of a 5 violation of any provision of subdivision (a) of section eleven hundred 6 seventy-four of this chapter within a period of eighteen months of a 7 previous violation of such subdivision. 8 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- 9 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
