       AN  ACT  to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the mainte-
         nance of a database on intellectual property
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 3152 of the public authorities law
    2  is amended by adding a new paragraph (k-1) to read as follows:
    3    (K-1)  TO  OPERATE  AND MAINTAIN A PUBLIC, INTERACTIVE DATABASE OF ALL
    4  INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY GENERATED BY STATE EMPLOYEES OR DEVELOPED  THROUGH
    5  STATE-FUNDED  RESEARCH  WHICH  SHALL  INCLUDE,  AT  A  MINIMUM,  A BRIEF
    6  DESCRIPTION OF THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND UP-TO-DATE CONTACT INFORMA-
    7  TION FOR EACH ITEM;
    8    S 2. Subparagraphs (x) and (xi) of paragraph (b) of subdivision  2  of
    9  section  3155  of the public authorities law, as amended by section 4 of
   10  part C of chapter 63 of the  laws  of  2005,  are  amended  to  read  as
   11  follows:
   12    (x) number of patents awarded to the college or university as a direct
   13  result  of  research  related to the award and income generated from the
   14  licensure or sale of such intellectual property; [and]
   15    (xi) CURRENT STATUS OF THE INTERACTIVE DATABASE OF INTELLECTUAL  PROP-
   16  ERTY CREATED PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH (K-1) OF SUBDIVISION THREE OF SECTION
   17  THIRTY-ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-TWO OF THIS TITLE; AND
   18    (XII) any other information deemed appropriate by the director.
   19    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
