       AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to enacting the
         "motorcycle noise reduction compliance act"
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Short  title. This act shall be known and may be cited as
    2  the "motorcycle noise reduction compliance act".
    3    S 2. Subdivision (c) of section 301 of the vehicle and traffic law  is
    4  amended by adding a new paragraph 4 to read as follows:
    5    (4) AN INSPECTION SHALL BE MADE WITH RESPECT TO THE SOUND LEVEL OF ALL
    6  MOTORCYCLES.  SUCH  INSPECTION SHALL INCLUDE A TEST OF THE EXHAUST SOUND
    7  LEVEL WITH A SOUND LEVEL METER. ALL MOTORCYCLES SHALL HAVE A SOUND LEVEL
    8  IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN SECTION  THREE  HUNDRED
    9  EIGHTY-SIX OF THIS TITLE IN ORDER TO PASS THE INSPECTION.
   10    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
