     Designates week of November 6 through November 12, 2022 as "Certified Public Accountants Week" in New Jersey.

A Senate Resolution designating the week of November 6 through November 12, 2022, as "Certified Public Accountants Week" in New Jersey.

 

Whereas, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) provide essential services that improve the fiscal health and well-being of the residents, businesses, and non-profits of this State; and

Whereas, The State's more than 16,000 CPAs are trusted advisors to hundreds of thousands of taxpayers and businesses, helping foster economic growth in New Jersey; and

Whereas, Founded in 1898, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) is the largest and premier association of accounting and finance professionals serving the needs of New Jersey CPAs and aspiring CPAs; and

Whereas, The NJCPA represents approximately 12,000 CPAs in public practice, industry, government, and education; and

Whereas, The mission of the NJCPA is to serve the needs of its members by promoting and maintaining high professional and ethical standards of public accountancy, offering more than 500 continuing education programs annually, and representing the profession's interest before lawmakers and regulatory bodies; and

Whereas, The NJCPA also provides educational materials and programs through which CPAs help enhance the financial literacy of the public; and

Whereas,  New Jersey residents who choose the accounting profession deserve recognition for the vital services they bring to this State's taxpayers and businesses; now, therefore,

 

     Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    This House celebrates and designates the week of Monday, November 6 through Friday, November 12, 2022, as "Certified Public Accountants Week" in New Jersey and does hereby extend sincere appreciation to the State's CPAs for their services to the people of this State.

 

     2.    Copies of this resolution, as filed with the Secretary of State, shall be transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, and to the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This Senate Resolution designates the week of November 6 through November 12, 2022 as "Certified Public Accountants Week" in New Jersey.
