     Temporarily expands summer working hours for certain minors.

An Act temporarily expanding summer working hours for certain minors.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    A minor between 16 and 18 years of age may work up to 50 hours in one week during the period beginning on the last day of the minor's school year and ending on Labor Day, with written permission from a parent or legal guardian of the minor.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately, and shall expire on September 6, 2022.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill would permit minors between 16 and 18 years of age to work up to 50 hours in a week during the summer period beginning the last day of the minor's school year and ending on Labor Day.  A parent or legal guardian's permission is required.  The bill would expire on September 6, 2022.
