SYNOPSIS

Urges NJT to provide bus service in Borough of Helmetta.

CURRENT VERSION OF TEXT

     As introduced.

A Concurrent Resolution urging New Jersey Transit Corporation to provide for bus service in the Borough of Helmetta.

Whereas, The Borough of Helmetta is a growing community in Middlesex County, New Jersey, but Helmetta does not currently have access to a New Jersey Transit bus route; and

Whereas, Many residents of Helmetta rely on public transportation to commute to work, but public transportation options are severely limited; and

Whereas, A current construction project in Helmetta will add additional rental units and may further increase the demand for public transportation services in the borough; and

Whereas, It is therefore fitting and proper for the Legislature to call on the New Jersey Transit Corporation to consider providing bus service in the Borough of Helmetta; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey (the Senate concurring):

     1.  The Legislature of the State of New Jersey urges the New Jersey Transit Corporation to consider providing bus service in the Borough of Helmetta.

     2.  Copies of this resolution, as filed with the Secretary of State, shall be transmitted by the Clerk of the General Assembly or the Secretary of the Senate to the Executive Director of the New Jersey Transit Corporation.
