SYNOPSIS
Establishes "New Jersey Farm Fresh Facility" designation for qualified healthcare facilities.

An Act concerning a farm fresh designation for healthcare facilities and supplementing Title 4 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The Secretary of Agriculture, upon a demonstration that at least 20 percent of the food served by a healthcare facility comes from farm products grown and produced in New Jersey, may allow the healthcare facility to use the words "New Jersey Farm Fresh Facility" in any promotional materials published or distributed by the healthcare facility. For purposes of this section, "healthcare facility" means any hospital, rehabilitation center, nursing home, or other similar facility.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill would authorize the Secretary of Agriculture to allow a healthcare facility to use the words "New Jersey Farm Fresh Facility" in any promotional materials published or distributed by the healthcare facility upon a demonstration that at least 20 percent of the food served by the healthcare facility consists of farm products grown and produced in New Jersey.
