STATEMENT
This bill provides a supplemental appropriation of $2 million to William Paterson University of New Jersey for the university's Child Development Center.
William Paterson University has not had a Child Development Center on its campus in several years since the renovation of the original building that housed the center. The center was a place of care for the children of students, faculty, and staff, and provided hands-on teaching experiences to students majoring in elementary and early childhood education. The university plans to reopen the Child Development Center in a new building. The supplemental funding under this bill will provide funds to the university as it constructs and establishes a new Child Development Center as a critical on-campus parenting support resource.
