STATEMENT

This bill makes a supplemental appropriation of $1 million to the Office of Legislative Services (OLS) to use for security improvements at legislative district offices.

Over the years, the OLS District Office Services has taken measures to address security concerns at district offices. Additional measures, however, can help improve their security. These include installing: locks with electronic proximity reading mechanisms; interior and exterior CCTV monitoring; bank‑style pass-through windows with shatterproof security film; full monitored intrusion alarm systems; and constructing secure waiting areas. This supplemental appropriation will support the costs of these and other measures, as needed at district offices.
