STATEMENT
This bill appropriates $60,000 to the Department of Agriculture for the reinstatement of the travel and per diem cost reimbursement appropriation for New Jersey Soil Conservation District Supervisors. Approximately 75 supervisors lend financial, academic, and agricultural experience to conserve natural resources on a county level. Dedicated funding from the Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Program covers operational costs; however, it is insufficient to reimburse district supervisors for the cost of travel and per diem for the time dedicated to the program. This supplemental appropriation will reimburse the district supervisors for the performance of their duties.
