STATEMENT
This bill changes the name of the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility to "William H. Fauver Youth Correctional Facility."
William H. Fauver was the longest serving Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Corrections, and was employed by the department for nearly forty years. During his tenure, he earned the respect of all those with whom he interacted and introduced groundbreaking initiatives such as drug courts and the Intensive Supervision Program.
William H. Fauver's first post as an administrator was at the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility, during the years of 1970 through 1972, and from there he went on to a lifetime of commitment and service to the correctional community of this State. Therefore, it is fitting and proper that the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility be renamed as the "William H. Fauver Youth Correctional Facility."
