An Act concerning pupil transportation and supplementing chapter 39 of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes.

1. Notwithstanding the provisions of N.J.S.18A:39-1 or any other law to the contrary, if multiple students from the same family attend the same nonpublic school, and the parents of the students are not contracting for transportation with a licensed third party provider for transportation to that nonpublic school, the family shall be eligible for an aid-in-lieu-of transportation payment for only one student attending that nonpublic school.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill will limit that amount of aid-in-lieu-of-transportation provided to a family in which more than one student attends the same nonpublic school, if the family is not contracting for transportation with a licensed third party provider for transportation to that nonpublic school. In this case the family will receive an aid-in-lieu-of transportation payment for only one student.
