AN ACT relative to the placement of all new electric transmission lines in New Hampshire.

ANALYSIS

This bill requires that all electric transmission lines in the state of New Hampshire be placed within state transportation rights-of-way to the extent possible.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen

AN ACT relative to the placement of all new electric transmission lines in New Hampshire.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Use of Transportation Rights-of-Way for New Transmission Lines. Amend RSA 162-H by inserting after section 5 the following new section:

162-H:5-a Use of Transportation Rights-of-Way. To the extent possible, all electric transmission lines placed in the state after the effective date of this section shall be within state transportation rights-of-way.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
