STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three

 

AN ACT including the Space Force in various definitions of the armed forces.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Anniversary of Founding Commemorated; Space Force.  Amend RSA 4:13-i to read as follows:

4:13-i United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps; Anniversary of Founding Commemorated.  In recognition of the men and women who have served in the finest traditions of United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps, and to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of each of these branches of the armed forces, the governor shall annually order the flags of the respective branches to be flown over the state house as follows:

I. United States Air Force, September 18.

II. United States Army, June 14.

III. United States Coast Guard, August 4.

IV. United States Navy, October 13.

V. United States Marine Corps, November 10.

VI.  United States Space Force, December 20.

2  Veteran; Space Force.  Amend RSA 21:50, II to read as follows:

II.  "Armed forces" means the United States Army, Army Reserve, Navy, Naval Reserve, Marine Corps, Marine Corps Reserve, Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Space Force, Coast Guard, Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard, and the Air National Guard.  "Armed forces" also includes other components, but is limited to those components and active duty periods described in 38 C.F.R. 3.7.

3  Space Force; Veterans' and Disabled Veterans' Preference.  Amend RSA 99-F:2, II to read as follows:

II.  "Armed forces" means the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard, including:

(a)  The Army Reserve.

(b)  The Navy Reserve.

(c)  The Marine Corps Reserve.

(d)  The Air Force Reserve.

(e)  The Coast Guard Reserve.

(f)  The Army National Guard of the United States.

(g)  The Air National Guard of the United States.

4  Military Staff of the Governor; Space Force.  Amend RSA 110-B:7, I to read as follows:

I.  The military staff of the governor shall consist of the adjutant general who shall be the chief of staff and 12 aides-de-camp.  Four shall be detailed from the national guard and 4 others shall be appointed from the reserve components of the armed forces of the United States.  The remaining 4 may be appointed from officers or former officers of the United States army, navy, marine corps, coast guard, space force or air force, or of the national guard or of the various officers' reserves components or from civilian life.

5  New Paragraph; Exemptions; Child Endangerment Prohibited; Space Force.  Amend RSA 170-E:3 by inserting after paragraph (h) the following new paragraph:

(i)  A facility licensed as a family child care provider by a branch of the United States Department of Defense, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, or by the United States Coast Guard.

6  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
