STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two

 

AN ACT relative to the taking of gray squirrels.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Small Game and Game Birds; Authority to Set Seasons.  Amend RSA 207:56, I to read as follows:

I.  The executive director, after consultation with the commission, shall have the authority to open and close the seasons for the taking of small game and game birds as defined in RSA 207:1, XXVI and XI, except those birds protected under RSA 209:4, to fix the number and sex limitations for small game, and any other conditions governing the methods and manner of taking and reporting the same, subject to any restrictions imposed by statute.  The executive director shall set the season for the gray squirrel to open no earlier than the 15th day of September each year.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
