STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty

 

AN ACT permitting parents or guardians to opt out of armed assailant drills in their child's school.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Paragraph; Emergency Response Plans; Emergency Response Drills.  Amend RSA 189:64 by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:

III.  Each school shall give 2 weeks notice to parents prior to conducting any armed assailant drill other than a discussion-based drill.  A parent may opt his or her child out of participation in such armed assailant drill.  This paragraph shall in no way be construed to apply to fire drills or other emergency drills.  

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
