A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds for teacher assistants.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction the sum of two hundred million dollars ($200,000,000) for the 2011‑2012 fiscal year and the sum of two hundred million dollars ($200,000,000) for the 2012‑2013 fiscal year to restore funds for teacher assistants in the public schools.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2011.
