Senate Concurrent Resolution 612
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING RYAN PIERINI FOR BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE JEFFERSON DAVIS CAMPUS OF THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, Ryan Pierini, a resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, has been selected as Instructor of the Year at the Jefferson Davis Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and
WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of their teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and
WHEREAS, Ryan Pierini, a Theatre Arts Instructor and Chairperson of the Fine Arts Department, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for 10 years but has taught for a total of 13 years; and
WHEREAS, Ryan Pierini received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia College and State University, and Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Ryan Pierini is a member of the Campus Faculty Association; Vice President's Advisory Committee; Sponsor of the Drama Club and Delta Psi Omega Honorary Fraternity; and Campus Centennial Committee; and
WHEREAS, Ryan Pierini has served as an Adjudicator for the Mississippi State Thespian Conference; ACTF Respondent; Member of VASTA; Director at Biloxi Center Stage; Director of State Stars Theatre Camp; Member of SETC; Member of Mississippi Theatre Association and Playwright Committee; Gulfport Little Theatre performances; and Director and Actor in numerous college performances; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this professional educator who has dedicated his career to teaching the young people of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ryan Pierini for being selected as Instructor of the Year at the Jefferson Davis Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to him our heartiest wishes for success in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Ryan Pierini, forwarded to the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
