AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH FEDERAL AGENCIES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION OR THE NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION AGENCY, FOR THE PURPOSES OF PROVIDING SERVICES FOR THE COLLECTION OF DATA AND MAPPING OF BROADBAND AVAILABILITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Public Service Commission is authorized and empowered to enter into contracts and agreements with federal agencies including, but not limited to, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Federal Communications Commission or the National Telecommunications Information Agency, for the purposes of providing services for the collection of data and mapping of broadband availability and for related purposes.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
