Senate Bill 2451

AN ACT TO REQUIRE EVERY COUNTY TO COMMIT TO DEVELOPING, LAUNCHING AND SUSTAINING A SUCCESSFUL COUNTY CERTIFIED WORK READY COMMUNITY, AND TO REQUIRE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF EACH COUNTY TO SELECT TWO LEADERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ACT WORK READY COMMUNITIES ACADEMY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Every county in the state shall commit to developing, launching and sustaining a successful county certified ACT Work Ready Community.  The board of supervisors of each county shall organize a cross agency team of government, educators, workforce, economic development and business/chamber leaders in the county, and shall select two (2) team members to participate in the ACT Work Ready Communities Academy.  Application for acceptance in the ACT Work Ready Communities Academy shall be submitted by each county no later than July 1, 2019.  Each county shall pay the registration fee and travel reimbursement for each participant attending the ACT Work Ready Communities Academy.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2018.
