Senate Bill 2249

AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE TO PLACE ON EACH PUMP THAT DISPENSES GASOLINE OR DIESEL FUEL FOR RETAIL SALE, A NOTICE THAT STATES SEPARATELY THE AMOUNT OF FEDERAL TAX AND THE AMOUNT OF STATE TAX LEVIED ON EACH GALLON OF GASOLINE OR DIESEL FUEL; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce shall place on each pump that dispenses gasoline or diesel fuel for retail sale, a notice that states separately the amount of federal tax and the amount of state tax levied on each gallon of gasoline or diesel fuel.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2019.
