A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING GUN DOG SUPPLY OF MATHISTON, MISSISSIPPI, FOR BEING NAMED THE 2018 INDUSTRY OF THE YEAR HONOREE BY THE NORTH MISSISSIPPI INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION.
WHEREAS, the Gun Dog Supply of Mathiston, Mississippi, was named the 2018 North Mississippi Industrial Development Association (NMIDA) Industry of the Year honoree, a truly outstanding distinction for such an exceptional business; and
WHEREAS, NMIDA is a regional economic development organization spanning approximately 30 counties in the Tennessee Valley Authority territory in North Mississippi, and it works with economic development partners across the region and state to improve the quality of life for the communities it serves; and
WHEREAS, since 1982, NMIDA has shown its appreciation for existing industries by selecting an Industry of the Year honoree from the North Mississippi region, and eligible industries are nominated by the area's local power companies, and a committee comprised of members of the NMIDA board of directors selects the honoree; and
WHEREAS, since its inception in 1972, Gun Dog Supply has provided gun dog training services, supplies, and equipment for retrievers, bird dogs, upland and flushing breeds, and it has become a great example of entrepreneurial success in rural Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, with the tremendous support of its community, this family-owned business has made a significant impact in the city of Mathiston and it is important to shed light on the business' phenomenal community contributions; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend outstanding Mississippi businesses, especially those such as Gun Dog Supply of Mathiston, Mississippi, whose unwavering dedication and commitment to its employees, customers and community brings honor to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize and commend Gun Dog Supply of Mathiston, Mississippi, for being named the 2018 Industry of the Year honoree by the North Mississippi Industrial Development Association, and extend most sincere wishes for continued success in all of its future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Gun Dog Supply and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
