A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF MR. ROBERT "KIPP" GREGGORY KNIPPERS AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.
WHEREAS, it is written in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that "To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the Heaven," and as such, on September 14, 2019, the immaculate author and finisher of our soul's destiny summoned the mortal presence of dearly beloved, Mr. Robert "Kipp" Greggory Knippers, to eternal rest, rendering great sorrow and loss to his family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Knipper's community lost a wonderful friend with his passing, and there is now a hush in our hearts as we come together to pay our respects to the memory of one who has been called to join that innumerable heavenly caravan; and
WHEREAS, born in Magnolia, Mississippi, on August 10, 1968, Kipp attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College where he earned an associate's degree in radio and journalism; and
WHEREAS, Kipp began his career in the radio industry in 1987, while in college and would go on to spend 31 wonderful years in the radio industry during which he was heard statewide on the Gallo and J.T. Shows on SuperTalk Mississippi, and he would serve as program director and station manager for WOSM; and
WHEREAS, over his long and illustrious career, Kipp also made time to emcee several Mardi Gras balls each year along with the Make-A-Wish Martini Shakedown, and also participate in Buddy Walk, St. Jude Radiothons, Honor Flight, Bikes or Bust, the Salvation Army, the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign for the American Cancer Society and the University of Southern Mississippi's Lighting the Way; and
WHEREAS, during his spare time, Kipp enjoyed cooking, coaching soccer and watching the New Orleans Saints as well as enjoying a cigar on the deck and eating bacon; and
WHEREAS, though he has traversed the river of life to reunite with those who answered God's summons to life eternal and now beckon his arrival to the celestial shores of Heaven's grandeur, the legacy of Robert "Kipp" Greggory Knippers' indelible imprint upon our lives will continue to refresh the hearts and fond memories of his loved ones, including his loving wife, Jo Knippers; children, Stormi Knippers and India Knippers; parents, Robert and Narine Knippers; and sister, Dawne Knippers Taylor; and WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to honor and commend the lives of outstanding Mississippians, especially those such as Mr. Robert "Kipp" Greggory Knippers, whose dedication to others and his community brings honor to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby mourn the loss and commemorate the life and legacy of Mr. Robert "Kipp" Greggory Knippers and express deepest sympathy to his family and friends upon his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mr. Robert "Kipp" Greggory Knippers
and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
