AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 67-1-29, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THE COMPENSATION FOR THE SWORN OFFICERS OF THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE SHALL BE DETERMINED BY A SPECIAL COMPENSATION PLAN THAT IS APPROVED BY THE STATE PERSONNEL BOARD; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 67-1-29, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
67-1-29. (1) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, the director, secretary, agents, inspectors, clerks and employees of the commission appointed under this chapter shall receive such reasonable compensation as may be fixed by the commission. Compensation for the following sworn officers of the division shall be determined by a special compensation plan that is approved by the State Personnel Board: Chief of Enforcement, Deputy Chief of Enforcement, Agent in Charge, and Enforcement Agents I through VII.
(2) The director and all agents, inspectors, clerks, and other employees shall be reimbursed for all actual and necessary traveling and other expenses and disbursements incurred or made by them in the discharge of their official duties.
(3) Such compensation and expenses shall be paid from funds appropriated for the support of the commission.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2021.
