AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF FORREST COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR RETARDED CITIZENS, BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI, THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, THE GULF PINE GIRL SCOUT COUNCIL, THE HATTIESBURG DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, INC., THE SALVATION ARMY, PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, THE HATTIESBURG LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL ASSOCIATION, PETAL BASEBALL ASSOCIATION, FIRST TEE OF THE PINE BELT, THE AIDS SERVICES COALITION AND PINE BELT ASSOCIATION OF FAMILIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Forrest County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may provide and expend county funds from any available funds of the county, in an amount not to exceed Ninety-three Thousand Five Hundred Thirty Dollars ($93,530.00) during calendar year 2017, for the purpose of providing funds necessary for the continuation of service programs provided by the Association for Retarded Citizens, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southeast Mississippi, Boy Scouts of America, Gulf Pine Girl Scout Council, Hattiesburg Downtown Association, Inc., Salvation Army, Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Hattiesburg Little League Baseball Association, First Tee of the Pine Belt, Petal Baseball Association, the AIDS Services Coalition and Pine Belt Association of Families.
During calendar year 2017, funds to the organizations shall not exceed the amounts as follows:
Association for Retarded Citizens............... $ 2,030.00
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southeast
Mississippi................................ $ 1,500.00
Boy Scouts of America........................... $ 2,000.00
Gulf Pine Girl Scout Council.................... $ 2,000.00
Hattiesburg Downtown Association, Inc........... $25,000.00
Salvation Army.................................. $ 2,500.00
Pearl River Valley Opportunity.................. $30,000.00
Hattiesburg Little League Baseball Association.. $ 4,500.00
Petal Baseball Association...................... $ 4,500.00
First Tee of the Pine Belt...................... $ 4,500.00
AIDS Services Coalition......................... $10,000.00
Pine Belt Association of Families..................$ 5,000.00
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
