House Bill 1754

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE HATTIESBURG PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT TO RELEASE CERTAIN FUNDS TO THE HATTIESBURG PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOUNDATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Hattiesburg Public School District is hereby authorized to release to the Hattiesburg Public Schools Foundation unobligated funds in an amount that shall not exceed One Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000.00) and shall not be less than One Hundred Seventy-four Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-seven Dollars ($174,457.00).  Such funds are composed of private donations to the foundation and of interest earned on monies previously invested by the foundation.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
