AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO DEBORAH LEDBETTER
OF HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE
LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored
to Ms. Deborah Ledbetter of Hinds County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as
an elector as a result of her conviction for the crime of forgery credit card
in Hinds County, Mississippi, on March 15, 1996, for which she was sentenced to
serve two (2) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections,
two (2) years suspended with one (1) year supervised probation. Upon violation
of her probation, it was revoked. On January 26, 2001, she was convicted for the
crime of forgery credit card in Hinds County, Mississippi, for which she was sentenced
to serve one (1) year in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
She completed all terms and
conditions of her sentence and was discharged on June 22, 2001. The
Legislature is informed that she has since conducted herself as a law-abiding
and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.
SECTION 2. This act
shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
