AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF BAY ST. LOUIS, MISSISSIPPI, TO WAIVE THE REQUIRED ANNUAL STATE AUDIT FOR THE MUNICIPAL FISCAL YEARS OF 2004-2005 DUE TO THE EFFECTS OF HURRICANE KATRINA; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Bay St. Louis is authorized, in its discretion, to waive the required annual state audit for municipalities, as prescribed in Section 21-35-31, Mississippi Code of 1972, for the municipal fiscal years of 2004-2005, due to the lack of records and documents resulting from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
