AN ACT TO ALLOW PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIANS TO ACCESS MEDICAL RECORDS OF CHILDREN WHO ARE COVERED UNDER THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY OR PLAN; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Any parent or legal guardian may access medical records of children who are covered under the parent or legal guardian's health insurance policy or plan until the child reaches twenty-seven (27) years of age. Such access is only allowed at times when the child is covered under the parent or legal guardian's health insurance policy or plan.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
