House Bill 1109

AN ACT TO DECLARE THE MAP DEVELOPED BY THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MISSISSIPPI GAMING COMMISSION, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE JOINT LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND EXPENDITURE REVIEW, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF MARINE RESOURCES, AND THE SECRETARY OF STATE IN ACCORDANCE WITH HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 85, 2018 REGULAR SESSION, TO BE AN OFFICIAL MAP OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI INDICATING THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA ON THE MISSISSIPPI COAST THAT IS ELIGIBLE FOR LICENSED GAMING UNDER STATE LAW; TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH MAP MAY BE USED IN THE DETERMINATION OF WHETHER A POTENTIAL LICENSED GAMING LOCATION ON THE MISSISSIPPI COAST IS WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA ELIGIBLE UNDER STATE LAW; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The map developed by the Executive Director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission, the Executive Director of the Joint Legislative Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review, the Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, and the Secretary of State in accordance with House Concurrent Resolution No. 85, 2018 Regular Session, is declared an official map of the State of Mississippi indicating the geographic area on the Mississippi Coast that is eligible for licensed gaming under state law.  Such map may be used in the determination of whether a potential licensed gaming location on the Mississippi Coast is within the geographic area eligible under state law.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2020.
