Summary

An Act To Amend Sections 37-3-2 And 37-9-57, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide For The Membership Of The Commission On Teacher And Administrator Education, Certification And Licensure And Development, To Authorize The Commission To Charge Fees For Licensure Application And Renewal, To Authorize The Commission To Appoint A Hearing Officer To Conduct Licensure Hearings, To Prescribe Certain Grounds For Licensure Disqualification, To Authorize Permanent Licensure Revocation Based On Severity Of The Offense, To Clarify The Procedure For Petition For Reinstatement Of A License, To Provide That The Commission May Reverse Or Remand The Decision Of The Commission Subcommittee Or Hearing Officer And To Clarify That Breach Of Contract By A Licensee Shall Result In An Automatic License Suspension For One School Year; And For Related Purposes.
