AN ACT

To amend chapter 161, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to school accreditation.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 161, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 161.086, to read as follows:

            161.086. When the state board of education assigns classification designations to school districts pursuant to its authority to classify the public schools of the state in section 161.092, the state board shall only use the following classification designations based on the standards adopted by the state board:

            (1) Unaccredited;

            (2) Provisionally accredited;

            (3) Accredited; and

            (4) Accredited with distinction.
