1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Lakeville South High School football team on winning
1.3the 2021 State High School Class 6A football championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Lakeville South football team participated in the 2021 State High School
1.7Class 6A football tournament championship game on November 26, 2021, at U.S. Bank Stadium;
1.8and
1.9WHEREAS, after beating Shakopee 42-28 in the quarterfinals and St. Michael-Albertville
1.1040-14 in the semifinals, the Cougars defeated Maple Grove Crimson 13-7 in the final game of the
1.11tournament to win the state championship; and
1.12WHEREAS, the Cougars finished the season with an outstanding 13-0 record and extended
1.13its winning streak to 21 games over the last two seasons; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.15congratulations are extended to the members of the Lakeville South High School football team for
1.16their sportsmanship and skill.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of Lakeville
1.20South High School.
