1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Don Kritzky of St. Paul Park for his quick actions and heroism in
1.3response to a house fire.
1.4WHEREAS, rapidity of the initial response to an emergency situation may mean the difference
1.5between life and death for those affected; and
1.6WHEREAS, on Tuesday, April 9, a house fire broke out in St. Paul Park that was noticed
1.7by neighbors; and
1.8WHEREAS, Don Kritzky was working in his garage when his wife alerted him to smoke
1.9coming from a neighbor's house, and he immediately called 911 and ran toward the house while
1.10talking with the operator; and
1.11WHEREAS, he and another neighbor helped three home occupants escape the fire and move
1.12away from the smoke before first responders arrived; and
1.13WHEREAS, the neighbors' actions meant all three occupants could be quickly transported
1.14to the hospital for treatment while the fire departments contained the fire; and
1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.16recognizes Don Kritzky's quick thinking and praises his heroism.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Don Kritzky.
