1.1A Senate resolution
1.2commemorating the life and legacy of Robert Davis.
1.3WHEREAS, those individuals who dedicate their lives to the betterment of their communities
1.4through public service leave lasting impressions for years to come; and
1.5WHEREAS, Robert "Bob" Davis began his decades-long career with the state of Minnesota
1.6in February 1969, initially taking a role as a janitor and working his way up to the
capitol complex
1.7delivery supervisor. In 2005, he joined the staff of the Senate, working as a Sergeant
during
1.8legislative session for the remainder of his working years; and
1.9WHEREAS, while he eagerly looked forward to legislative session each winter, Bob took
1.10his well-earned retirement at the end of May 2019, following more than 50 years of
public service;
1.11and
1.12WHEREAS, Bob passed away at his home on November 20, 2020, surrounded by his adoring
1.13family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, and countless
others
1.14for his love of fishing, his friendly demeanor, and his penchant for frying bacon
in the morning for
1.15breakfast; and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.17honors the legacy of Robert Davis and extends deep condolences to all who knew him.
1.18BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.19enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature
and that of the
1.20Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the family
of Bob
1.21Davis.
